This wasn't a playlist. It was an argument.

Every track on that sheet was chosen to prove something. Yoshi Horikawa's "Letter" to open -- left to right, the stage building across the room before a word was said. "Bubbles" for pinpoint imaging. Terje Isungset playing an instrument made of ice, a traditional Inuit song where the cold is part of the sound. Bobby McFerrin because joy deserves a seat in the room too. Dean Martin to take you somewhere you've been before and make you feel it differently. The Beatles' "Blackbird" saved for last. Called a gift. That's exactly what it was.

Daryl Wilson built the set. Every level calibrated. Every track with a purpose written in the margin -- soundstage, depth, connection, time travel, ridiculous bass, fun.

At the bottom of the sheet, one note underneath everything else.
