A Big Thank You to 1970 Bellevue High graduate and Disney Animator Barry Temple for taking time to speak to art students at Bellevue East and Bellevue West last week!

Barry has worked in animation for decades and you most likely have seen his work in The Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Mulan, The Superfriends, Scooby Doo, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, and many more.

Barry spoke about how he went from being a student in Bellevue, Nebraska to an animator at Hanna-Barbera and later Walt Disney. He answered many student questions and gave advice for those interested in a possible career in animation.

This has been a long time coming - Check out the new Augmented Reality Sandbox - housed at Bellevue East High School. The sandbox is a "living map" of sorts and can be used as a resource in all sorts of courses including history, computer science, geography, art, and math!

It was publicly unveiled at the Bellevue Public Schools Foundation Gala and then used by students for the first time yesterday at Bellevue East!

A HUGE Thank you to the BPS Foundation for the grant that helped fund this endeavor and to Tony Elias, Bellevue East graduate and owner of AME Computers in Olde Towne for donating the computer that powers the augmented reality!
