My sweet guest at the bungalow left me a lovely note on a card she painted while in town 🥰 I love it & think I’ll frame it and hang it up there. It’s almost coneflower season!

I felt like estate sales royalty when I walked out of the Sunny Slope house carrying this incredible Haywood Wakefield p**f swivel stool—all the congratulatory cheering, ooohing, ahhing, gasping, & a few boos, damns, & hopeful “did you JUST buy the stool?” from many of the people in line still waiting to get in Friday morning was astounding! I was #16 in line and had no expectations of scoring this curved vanity & stool set. But there it was & there I was, and welp 🤷🏻‍♀️😍🤩🥳

I knew it would look fabulous at the but when I took the stool there yesterday, it became clear that I had no wall tall enough to accommodate the the large mirror without covering up a window or some other equally functional part of the house. There were some options without hanging the mirror, and ultimately I replaced the record player stand with it in the living room. The lower shelf is perfect for records, CDs, & books, & the glass is making a great plant shelf. The mirror will wait to be remarried with it in another setting, but for now this 1952 beauty is happy here. I may rehab the minor blenishes down the road if I go to resell it, but it’s in lovely shape for now as is. I’m over the moon 🥰✨🌙 to own a from the sculptura series, I’ve been a 3 decade admirer, 1st time purchaser. Another great sale of midcentury goodness from

A lovely sunset at the last night, promptly followed by the rise of the full moon 🥰 we have another set of windy storms rolling through this afternoon, and at least it’s warm enough to be rain, but last week’s windy blizzard proved to be the demise of one of the aqua front porch chairs (peep the last pic), so I’m in the market for 2 cute chairs to replace those…I haven’t found that light aqua color that pops so nice in front of the dark ocean blue of the porch…yellow, rusty red maybe?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dome sweet dome 🥰 We were working on some upgrades to the Omaha dome home last night and got to enjoy the clear night sky and view of the moon, city, Mormon Bridge traffic, and stars on a balmy January eve also ✨

Look at this moss in January at the being so vibrant & unbothered by winter’s extreme conditions. And glowing while resting—it’s DORMANT for the winter!

“One of the reasons moss is able to survive in the winter is through a process called poikilohydry. For those that don’t know, Poikilohydry is a term used to describe the ability of certain plants, such as mosses, liverworts, and some ferns, to survive in a dormant state when conditions are unfavorable for growth. It is a type of survival strategy that allows these plants to survive in environments where water is scarce or temperatures are extreme. This ability is characterized by the plant’s ability to lose almost all of its water and to rehydrate and resume metabolic activities when water is available again. In simpler terms, it’s a survival strategy that allows plants to go dormant when water is not available, and come back to life when water is again present.”

Lots of stars showing off this week & some planets in the clear skies 🌌 we’ve been having, but the moon has been eerily absent 🌖

The melons are meloning! Harvest from yesterday. It was the day to pick the first charentais melon—it lets you know when by its wonderful fragrance and the tendril by the stem has gone brown, the other one isn’t far behind. 🥰
