Real Estate News You Can Use

Good news for Buyers and those of you that have mortgages over 7%. Mortgage rates are around 6.20% nationally which means it’s a great time to refinance a loan over 7% and if you are a Buyer purchase a home…

The Fed is expected to cut rates again at their next 2 meeting before the end of the year and I’m sure a lot of folks will want to wait until that happens.

Great for refinancers👍🏾

But…

If you are a Buyer lower rates will the competition tougher🤷🏾‍♂️ So, if you see a home you like now you might want to jump on it cause if mortgage drop below 6% I’m sure we will see a multiple offer market again.

At least here in crazy expensive Seattle and Bellevue, Washington.

Interest Rates are the lowest they have been all year and now sit at 6.50% for a 30 year fixed rate loan.

A 15 year fixed rate loan is at 5.88%.

The Federal Reserve will meet on September 17, 2025 and many experts expect the Fed to cut rates by at least 0.25% which is great news for buyers that need loans.

While home prices are still pretty high and going higher year over year, lower interest rates makes home purchases a bit easier for buyers as they can afford bigger and better homes.

Also Football season in College and the NFL kicked off this month and I’ve included the Washington Huskies and Seattle Seahawks schedules for September.

Only 2.5% of homes in the country changed hands (were sold) in 2024!

In 2024 mortgage interest rates fluctuated between 6.1% and 7.1%

From 2020 to 2022 mortgage interest rates were in the 3% range.

Rates JUMPED 3% points from 2022 to 2024!

Currently mortgage interest rates are just below 7%.
