Changing Spaces- Montana Chapter

It's been too long! We have had a rough year health wise. So I apologize for the absence. What a better day to check in than on awareness day?!

Changing Spaces was founded in 2016 and at that time we picked out July 26th as our Awareness Day, because of the ADA anniversary.

As we have grown, we have found sharing this day overshadows our mission.
We made the decision to move awareness day to October 10th, a day with significance for our campaign, the date the first ever adult changing table bill AB 662 was signed into law, in California, in 2015.

The ADA is 36 years old today and has, without doubt, improved the lives of America’s disabled population immensely.
However, it has not kept pace with the needs of all.

The lack of availability of height adjustable, adult size changing tables in our communities is a significant barrier to inclusion. Until the ADA is amended to reflect that need, we have to advocate state by state.

As you can see from our map we now have 28 states working on this issue.
