Disturbance, Assault Investigation, and Pursuit Results in Multiple Arrests

Today at approximately 5:25 p.m., Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a large disturbance involving several intoxicated teenagers at Port of Dewatto Park on NE Dewatto Holly Road.

While responding to the area, deputies received reports of reckless driving associated with the incident, including information that a subject had been struck by a vehicle. Deputies located the suspected vehicle while en route and attempted a traffic stop. The driver failed to yield, leading deputies on a pursuit from NE Belfair Tahuya Rd onto NE State Route 300.

The pursuit ended when deputies successfully performed a Pursuit Immobilization Technique (PIT), causing the vehicle to leave the roadway.

Three occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody, including two juveniles and one adult. The individuals are facing charges related to the alleged vehicular assault and physical assaults.

We would like to thank our partners at the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, Bremerton Police Department, and the Washington State Patrol for their assistance and support during this incident.

This remains an active investigation, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
