Day EIGHT 🙄 of our Student Leadership Field Experience in New York City. We finally got flights out of New York . Students visited Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum before headed to the airport, again. Although, they all got out of New York, half the trip remains in Atlanta airport over night, due to travel delays. 🖖

May 15-20, the Office of Student Life is traveling with Student Leadership Scholars to New York City for the program’s annual Capstone Leadership Field Experience. Student leaders will discover the New York, and participating in discussions about leadership & our nation’s history.

Highlights of day SEVEN of our Student Leadership Field Experience in New York City. Since we were unable to get flights until Friday, students relaxed most of the day, with a quick trip to tour the New York Public Library and the Mind of a Serial Killer the Experience. Both items were on our students’ short list of things to-do that we did not have time to visit in our regular schedule. The evening event with a select group going to watch the Broadway production of “The Lost Boys” the musical. Bonus day and bonus events. 🖖

May 15-20, the Office of Student Life is traveling with Student Leadership Scholars to New York City for the program’s annual Capstone Leadership Field Experience. Student leaders will discover the New York, and participating in discussions about leadership & our nation’s history.

Highlights of day six of our Student Leadership Field Experience in New York City. The day was planned to be our last. A morning tour of the catacombs of St. Peter’s Old Cathedral and souvenir shopping; then our flight back home. But weather cancelations and a sink hold at LaGuardia Airport, forced us to spend an additional night in New York. 🖖

Highlights of day five of our Student Leadership Field Experience in New York City. The day included a tour of the United Nations Headquarters, the Museum of Broadway, and the Broadway production of “Hadestown,” with a surprise opportunity to meet the cast afterward, 🖖

Highlights of day four of our Student Leadership Field Experience in New York City. The day included a full day at Rockefeller Center, featuring being walk-up guests on the live broadcast of NBC’s Today Show, a behind the scenes tour of Radio City Music Hall and being VIP live audience guests to the July 20th screening of “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” The day ended with a special FaceTime call with Chancellor Jennifer Methvin. 🖖

Highlights of day three of our Student Leadership Field Experience in New York City. The day included a ferry ride to Liberty & Ellis Islands, the Statue of Liberty, the National Museum of Immigration, Wall Street, Federal Hall, Trinity Church, and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and a live production of the Broadway play “The First Shadow” 🖖

Highlights of day two of our Student Leadership Field Experience in New York City. The day included an open-top bus tour of the city and walks through Central Park, Little Italy & Chinatown, and visit to the American Museum of Natural History. 🖖

Highlights of day one of our New York Student Leadership Field Experience. Many students flew and rode public transit for the first-time. After arriving to the Big Apple, students visited the Empire State Building, Macy’s, Times Square and enjoyed local food and sites along the way. 🖖

And just like that, the academic year has come to an end. 272 days of memories made, late nights with friends, last minute mornings rushing to class, studying sessions, laughs, lessons, and moments we’ll never quite forget. Now the parking lot sits empty, but the memories will always fill the space. 🖖

On Monday, we took a short break from checking out residents to honor the student leaders who serve their peers in on-campus housing, our resident assistant team. A special thanks to these amazing student leaders how have sacrificed their time, talent, and sometimes sleep to serve their peers. 🖖
