Torticollis is a common diagnosis and one way you can help prevent it is with this simple strategy.
(As per the video, please talk to your pediatrician and get a physical therapy evaluation if your baby demonstrates a preference to look in one direction and/or consistently positions with their head in a tilted position.)

Yes, there actually is a National Mojito Day! My favorite recipe is below. For a non-alcoholic version (a go-to for me much of the time), just omit the rum and you’ve got a super simple, refreshing mocktail. Note you can also make this with simple syrup instead of sugar, but I read that the OG mojitos were made with sugar to get a tiny bit of that graininess (which I actually love), so this is more authentic.
Ingredients:
10 fresh mint leaves
½ medium lime, cut into 4 wedges
2 Tbs white sugar
1 cup-ish ice cubes
1-2 shots white rum
Club soda to fill the glass
Instructions:
Muddle the mint and two of the lime wedges in the bottom of a glass.
Add the other lime wedges and sugar and re-muddle.
Fill the glass with ice.
Pour the rum over the ice.
Fill the glass with club soda.
Stir well so the sugary syrup disperses.
Enjoy!
Happy National Mojito Day! 💚
xo,
Katie

Ask the Expert: Ana Paz, Physical Therapist I met Ana a couple of months ago, and we immediately hit it off. Not only did we both go to PT school in Boston, but we both found our love for supporting parents while working in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)....
Apologies for the extra-enthusiastic “DAY ONE!” 🤣 I just rewatched the recording and I guess I might be a little passionate about this. 😉
Seriously though, the benefits of this simple action are huge… less fear with tummy time, vestibular system activation, strengthening, and teaching the rolling motion to name a few. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

As babies get more mobile, things can get a little wild on the changing table.
My favorite tip? Keep a super high-interest toy or object at your changing station that your baby only gets to play with during diaper changes. Some favorites when my kids were babies? An empty wipes container, an annoying musical toy they really loved, and a whisk! (Not all at the same time.) They were distracted and my job was a lot easier!
