Electronics Unlimited Alert: Big Changes Coming to Home Wi-Fi Routers

The Federal Communications Commission has announced a new ban on certain foreign-made routers—impacting many major brands like TP-Link, Netgear, and Asus.

What this means for you:
• Your current router is still fine — no need to replace it
• Future router availability may change
• Some devices could lose security updates after 2027

Our recommendation:
Don’t rush out to buy a new router right now. This situation is evolving quickly, and waiting could save you from buying something that may not be supported long-term.

In the meantime, protect your network:
✔️ Keep firmware updated
✔️ Change default login credentials
✔️ Use strong, secure passwords
