Replacing the handle return spring on a pallet jack

When is replacement necessary:
• The handle does not spring back to vertical after being released.
• The spring is cracked, broken, or visibly worn.
• There is loss of tension in the spring, or the handle feels loose and sluggish.
• The spring fails to assist lifting or retaining the handle as originally intended.

Steps replacing the handle return spring:
• Lower and Secure the Pallet Jack
• Disconnect the Chain Linkage
• Remove the Roll Pin
• Relieve Spring Tension
• Remove Handle Axle and Handle
• Compress and Remove the Spring
• Replace Seals
• Install the New Spring
• Reassemble the Handle
• Release Spring and Reconnect Chain
• Test the Pallet Jack
