Today, Gilbert Building Partnership pauses to remember the courage, sacrifice, and resolve of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy 82 years ago.

D-Day reminds us that freedom has never been free. It was secured by ordinary men who answered an extraordinary call — many of them young, far from home, and willing to give everything for the future of generations they would never meet.

As we work to restore a building that has stood through generations of Beaumont history, we are reminded that honoring the past is more than preserving bricks and mortar. It is remembering the people, the sacrifices, and the spirit that shaped the communities we inherit today.

May we never forget the bravery of the Greatest Generation and the price paid for the freedoms we enjoy.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.

The spirit of downtown Beaumont is reawakening.

The street featured on this historic postcard was once filled with commerce, conversation, ambition, and people who believed in the future of our city. While some of these historic buildings have already been lost to time and demolition, there is a growing movement working to preserve what still remains and restore new life to downtown Beaumont.

Those now occupying businesses along these same streets are helping write Beaumont’s next chapter every single day.
