🚨 BISD UPDATE: No school for Beaumont ISD students Thursday, September 3, as crews continue assessing campuses and completing preparations following this week’s weather.

📌 BISD staff will report Thursday and Friday for district preparations and training.

Students will remain out through the Labor Day weekend and return Tuesday, September 8.

🌧️ Tropical Storm Edouard Update

Entergy Texas says it expects to restore power to 50% of all customers impacted by Tropical Storm Edouard by the end of today.

Communities in and near the storm’s path saw some of the greatest impacts, including Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange and Silsbee.

Crews continue working to restore power and assess damage across Southeast Texas. Residents are encouraged to stay safe and remain alert for changing conditions as recovery efforts continue.

Tropical Depression 5 has the potential to strengthen while in the Gulf.

Southeast Texas is no stranger to weather events! Meteorologist Kerry Cooper and Chief Meteorologist Patrick Vaughn are actively tracking the tropical depression in the Gulf. 🚨 Traffic Alert: That portion of Gulfway Drive will be closed from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. today. TxDot approved the closure. The City of Port Arthur is encouraging drivers to use alternate routes.
