City council members approved a free way for students to get around this summer.

ZIP bus fares are waived for K-12 students from May 28th-August 12th. City officials say the program is aimed at helping young residents access summer educational programs, job opportunities, wellness activities and community events. High schoolers will need to show a student ID to ride for free.

The 100 Black Men of Greater Beaumont organization hosted its 13th Annual Scholarship & Awards Banquet Friday night. 🎓✨💵

Hundreds of people including family, friends and community leaders gathered at the MCM Elegante Hotel as 17 Beaumont ISD students received their certificates.

This year’s sponsors included HEB, ExxonMobil, and the Beaumont Police Department. The 100 Black Men USA volunteer organization’s mission is to mentor youth and I was grateful to have a seat at the table.

Truly honored to serve at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church’s Women’s Conference today as one of the enrichment session speakers. Being in a room full of God fearing women— dedicated & experienced women who are pillars in the community— was an inspiration to my life!

This year’s theme was Behold and Become: Reflecting The Image of Christ.

We heard from multiple wonderful speakers including Lady Dorrie Adolph of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Angela Harris and Dr. Suzonne Crockett of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

Grateful for the amazing guests, Anitrea Goodwin and Shelia Teate, who joined me on The Beat today to share their hearts and vision for this Saturday’s powerful women’s conference. 💙💐

It’s an honor to be one of the four speakers, and I can’t wait to continue this conversation and see lives impacted.

Tickets for Mt. Sinai Baptist Church’s 2nd Women’s Conference are still available. It’ll be this Saturday, April 18th from 9am until 3pm. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.
