It was back in January of 1988, that a little coin company was born in Beaumont, Texas. That year, the American public was extremely excited by the fact that the US Mint was once again minting gold and silver. With not much more than pure determination, encouragement from family and friends, and a little money from investors, First Fidelity Reserve began its journey on its long road to success. Fi

1914 2.5 Indian MS65
1914 was an interesting year for the 2.5 Indian gold. Mintage of the 2.5 Indians in Philadelphia dropped by more than half from the 1913 mintage. It could have been due to focus on the growing war situation around the world at the time. This gorgeous example belongs to a collector in big sky country with an affinity for Native American history. The same collector has even assembled a museum of local artifacts to share with the community. There is no doubt; she knows quality when she sees it. Just look at that detail.

1932 $10 Indian MS65+
With a mintage of over 4 million the 1932 $10 Indian is typically an easy example to find in grades up to and including 65. Once you get higher than that, as seen in the MS 65+ shown here, the populations drop dramatically.

1843 O Small Letters $5 Liberty New Orleans Hoard
What is a hoard coin you ask? Coin hoards are quite fascinating! Groups of coins buried or “hoarded” and later discovered are some of the most interesting types of coins to seek out. Think about it. Why did they bury them? What were they hiding from? Antique coins like this 1843 hold many secrets from our past. One thing that stands out about this particular coin is the fact that it’s called the New Orleans Hoard. Every coin discovered in this hoard was minted at the famous New Orleans Mint. The NOLA Mint struck coins between 1838 to 1861 then took a hiatus and returned to minting from 1879 to 1909. The 1843-O Small Letters has an original mintage of only 19,075 which is extremely low, can you imagine how few a hoard coin from this year truly is?

1879 $4 Stella Simpson Collection
The “Stella” (Latin for star) was only minted in 1879 and 1880. In 1879, members of Congress proposed a four-dollar coin to compete globally with similarly valued pieces, including the French 20 franc coin, the Spanish 20 pesetas, the Dutch and Austrian 8 florins and the Italian 20 lire.
The exact population of the 1879 Gilt Stella is unknown. Some say it’s about 10 to 15 pieces. These famous coins are far beyond the financial reach of most collectors. But that hasn’t stopped the Stella from becoming one of the most popular US coins ever produced.
A true rarity, this piece is nothing less than sensational.

1892-S $20 Liberty MS63+ CAC
It’s rare to find a coin that has been certified as a Plus (+) grade, or CAC. It’s even rarer to see one that is both! For the first time since February 2020 Mike Fuljenz got to do what he does best. Attend a coin show. Thanks to the World Fair of Money recently Mike was able to search the floors and see first hand again the amazing coins displayed and auctioned. How rare is a coin like the 1892-S $20 Liberty MS63+ CAC? I cannot tell you for sure how many are CAC, but what we do know is that there are only 47 MS 63+. As for in + and CAC, well that’s a greater mystery. I do know that this one resides in The Tkasha’s Treasures collection.

1909-D $5 Indian MS64+
Indian Half Eagles were minted only for five years at the Denver Mint. Out of the entire series, featuring Philly, San Fran, Denver and one appearance from New Orleans, the 1909-D is actually the most common coin of them all. Unless you are able to find it in high grades, then common is not a factor. This particular piece is a MS64+ CAC and fun fact, there are only 14 coins finer to exist. Another great benefit to this coin is the cost. You're now able to own beautiful antique coins for low costs.
