Happening Now Until 1 pm! Access Mobile Grocery, free pantry items for anyone who needs. Staff can also do a short screening to see if you qualify for additional services!

Are you in grades 7–12—or know a teen who is and loves to read? Join us for the first Teen Book Club meeting of the school year next Monday!

Bring a book you’ve been loving (or hating!) to share with the group. Then, we’ll choose a book together to read for our November meeting. 📖

FREE Mobile Grocery is coming to Beacon!

Access: Supports for Living’s Mobile Grocery will be at the Howland Public Library with FREE shelf-stable, fresh, and refrigerated food items for anyone who could benefit. (Availability may vary)

While you’re there, Access team members can also provide a quick 5-minute screening to see if you may be eligible for additional support services, including help with food, housing, transportation, healthcare, and more.

📚 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten starts here!

Join us for our kickoff storytime on Wednesday, September 23 at 10:30 AM and begin a fun, free reading adventure for families with children from birth to school age!

Reading aloud together helps build early literacy skills and encourages a lifelong love of books. Whether your child is a newborn, toddler, or almost ready for kindergarten, it’s never too late to start.

Families will receive a starter packet with book logs, a bookmark, a Howland Library tote bag, and a brand-new book to begin the adventure.

Registration is required and space is limited, so be sure to sign up soon! Register at BeaconLibrary.org!

Happening Now! Come on down to the library’s Community Room for our annual house plant swap! Bring a plant and take home a new to you plant until 6:30 pm!

Stop by the Library Wednesday to meet representatives from the Dutchess County Office for the Aging and learn about programs, services, and resources available to older adults and their families.

From transportation and health and wellness programs to community resources, assistance, and opportunities to stay connected, there may be more support available than you realize.
