When I began it was this hope that w fellow artists, we/I could build a community. 🥳 A safe space where a collective of artists could share, rejoice, explore, create & play. ♥️ Slowly over several years, that space further clarifies & arrives, refining & shaping itself almost as if by magic. 🪄✨ We’re rag-tag, constantly wondering how much longer we can pull this off w limited resources, in a world determined to limit & silence. 🫣 My mind darts & dashes in the middle of the night, wondering, fretting…👀 Then the artists gather, manifesting their own miracle & I’m reminded of 2 things: I’m not doing it alone & we’re merely the home that shelters this space of infinite light, dedication, talent, joy, & inspiration. 🥹 With a full heart I’m thrilled to share that this little spark of a concept has grown into a world where this loft will see 4 casts rehearsing + workshopping this summer. 🤩🥰
Friday night kicked us off w a core-cast read-through of God’s Puppets by (Gwynne Watkins). 🤓 The new draft is spectacular, the cast shimmering, the director glowing…all heading to a couple of stages near you this fall & winter. 🙏🫠

You have a human with the words: Google Presents hovering at her body. 👀 I’ve been meaning to write/ask this since I took the screenshot in December. But then, *she gestures expansively around*. When exactly are these celebrity artists going to STOP? We’re out here struggling to make ends meet...fighting the good fight...do what we can for our democracy... Last fall, I cancelled nearly all of our subscriptions. Spotify I cancelled years ago given their committed loyalty to the cesspool that is Rogan. 🤮
But what about this? Especially from celebrities who legit will never HAVE to work another day in their life & are protected in ways (holistically) that most of us could only hope for. Their wealth bordering on obscene too...this includes athletes...
When are they going to take a real stand & STOP working on behalf of studios & platforms which are toxic & support oppression & wage depression? 😵‍💫
Really Sarah, you need to partner with Google right now? David Spade you need Amazon for your comedy special?
At what point do they take their limitless resources & establish independent studios or other ways to work?
In general, the excessive corporatization of every facet of artistic & athletic output is grotesque...but as the curtain is pulled further & further back on how these entities are literally bankrupting the working ppl of this country...when does this stop? 😔And when do we stop consuming?
I’m not trying to shame her...she’s worked her ass off since she was a kid & is by all accounts a lovely person. But you can’t claim one set of values while living another...you can, but then who does that remind us all of?
I was scrolling & saw this ad, it struck me enough to screenshot it. It’s going to take us all to stop feeding the beast.
We have our own paths, our own spiritual contracts, our own guides to follow. But at what point does participation become complicity? 🥺

This is from a speech he gave the night before his assassination:
“I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't matter…because I've been to the mountaintop…. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life…. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!”
