Getting approved for a mortgage is exciting… but what many buyers don’t realize is that what you do after applying matters just as much as getting approved in the first place.
Once you’ve started the mortgage process, lenders are paying close attention to your financial picture, and sudden changes can sometimes create unexpected delays or even affect final approval.

Here are a few things to avoid:
❌ Opening new credit cards
❌ Financing a car or making large purchases
❌ Missing credit card or loan payments
❌ Changing jobs without talking to your lender first
❌ Making unusually large bank deposits without documentation

The safest move? Keep everything as consistent as possible until closing day. 🔑

Buying a home is exciting, but sometimes the best thing you can do during the process… is nothing at all. 😉

One of the biggest reasons people put off buying a home? Believing mortgage myths that aren’t always true. A common misconception is that you have to put 20% down in order to buy a home… but that simply isn’t the case for many buyers. There are loan programs out there that may allow for much lower down payments, depending on your situation and qualifications.

Another myth? Thinking you need perfect credit or that buying a home is completely out of reach in today’s market. The truth is, a lot of people are closer to homeownership than they realize; they just haven’t explored all of their options yet. ✨

Sometimes the biggest thing standing in the way of buying a home isn’t finances… it’s misinformation. Have you heard a home buying myth that made you hesitate? 👀

With grocery prices climbing, throwing away spoiled food feels more frustrating than ever. The good news? A few simple habits can help your groceries stay fresh longer and save money every single month.

1️⃣ Store berries in a glass container instead of the original carton. Berries trap moisture fast in store packaging. Washing them and storing them properly can help prevent mold and add extra days of freshness.
2️⃣ Keep herbs in a cup of water like fresh flowers. 🌿 Instead of tossing cilantro or parsley into the fridge drawer, place the stems in water and cover loosely. They can last significantly longer.
3️⃣ Don’t store all produce together. Foods like bananas, avocados, tomatoes, and apples release ethylene gas, which can cause nearby fruits and vegetables to ripen (and spoil) faster.
4️⃣ Freeze bread before it starts going stale 🍞 If you know you won’t finish a loaf in time, freeze part of it early instead of throwing half away later.
5️⃣ Move older items to the front of the fridge. One of the easiest ways to reduce waste: make sure the food you bought first gets used first.

Small habits like these may not seem like much… but over time they can save you hundreds of dollars each year. ✨🏡

What’s the one grocery item in your house that always seems to go bad too quickly?
