Monday, January 2, 2023 no freight boat.

Due to current ice conditions and this evening's frigid forecast, Fire Island Ferries, will be cancelling the 7:00am ferry.

We will make our best efforts to complete the 10:00am ferry as scheduled and its corresponding 1:00pm, 1:10pm, 1:20pm return trips to Bay Shore. Please monitor our website for all schedule updates.

Due to severe flooding and storm conditions forecasted the 3:30pm passenger ferry to and from Fire Island will be suspended on Friday, December 23, 2022.

The morning passenger service will operate as scheduled. The last ferry off Fire Island will be as scheduled 1:00pm Ocean Beach, 1:10pm Fair Harbor, and 1:20pm Saltaire.

Ferry service is expect to resume Saturday, December 24, 2022. As always please monitor our website and social media platforms for all service updates.

Christmas Eve- the 3:30pm to Fire Island and its return trips will not run. The terminal parking lot will be locked as of 1:30pm and will remain locked until Monday morning, 12/26, at 6:15 am.

There is NO SERVICE Christmas Day.

The parking lot will be locked from 11:45am on Thanksgiving Day and will remain locked until Friday morning's crew arrives at 6:15am. Please plan accordingly.

SPECIAL 9:10pm ferry, Saturday, 8/6/22, from Atlantique to the Main Terminal in Bay Shore. This ferry will NOT stop at Bay Shore Marina. Please plan accordingly.

You may purchase books of tickets in person using cash, check, or credit at our main terminal or west terminals.

Ticket books will not be held on behalf of off-site customers nor can they be mailed.

It's Memorial Day weekend and the freight boats are loading up for a summer full of Fire Island bound packages.⁠

For Memorial Day weekend Friday, May 27th, and Monday, May 30th, lumber and other building materials will not be accepted at the freight boat. Please plan accordingly. The freight house will not store such materials overnight and will refuse all deliveries on these days.⁠

The passenger ferry is for personal items (i.e. normal personal luggage) and perishables and the ferries only have so much room in our luggage areas.

All items stowed in our luggage area are subject to a MINIMUM $2.00 charge (Standard carts Minimum $6.00 and Standard Wagons Minimum $7.00). All items should be under 40lbs MAXIMUM

The crew reserves the right to refuse any item regardless of the trip's capacity. ⁠

All bulk items, multiple wagons/carts per party, flowers (even if in a wagon), large coolers, household items, etc. must be shipped on the freight boat.

FDNY holds Category 4 hurricane drill on Fire Island Members of the FDNY simulated what they would do if the roadway into Fire Island from Robert Moses was flooded with water, how they would search local homes and how they would use canines to search for injured or missing people.

Attention Atlantique Passengers starting Monday, 5/2, the Town of Islip will be conducting construction on the Atlantique dock. Due to this construction Fire Island Ferries will be suspending service into Atlantique until further notice. We look forward to seeing the new and improved dock for the start of our busy season.

What a way to start your Wednesday!

We will begin running a Saturday freight boat on April 9, 2022.

Our policy for the Saturday freight boat is that NO building supplies are accepted. However, April 9, 16, 23, 30 and May 7 building supplies WILL be accepted. This is in an effort to allow homeowners to order those supplies needed to start projects around the house since they are not on Fire Island during the week, yet. As well as, to help the contractors order material they may need on their job sites.

Beginning May 14, we will revert back to our policy of NO building supplies on the Saturday freight boat.

Please remember we have updated the schedule to include trips to/ from Ocean Beach and will no longer have trips in/out of Seaview at this time.

Thank you for your patience during the last few weeks. Our crew and staff appreciated the passengers who maintained friendly dispositions despite the difficulties.

Ocean Beach Service Will Resume 3/20/22
As a result of the agreement reached between Fire Island Ferries and the Village of Ocean Beach, all ferry and water taxi service arriving/departing Ocean Beach will resume Sunday, March 20, 2022.

Freight service will resume Monday, March 21, 2022.

Please note service to/from Ocean Beach will remain suspended for Saturday, March 19, 2022, and will arrive/depart Seaview for the remainder of the day.

As of March 20, 2022, all services arriving/departing Seaview will end.

Remember to check the new trips times and pick up your parking pass as the season rapidly turns to Spring. ⁠

Service Ocean Bay Park will resume Friday, 2/4/2022 with the 7:00am ferry.

Passenger service will start up tomorrow Wednesday, 2/2/22, for all scheduled communities EXCEPT Ocean Bay Park. Due to ice conditions we are unable to safely reach the dock in OBP. ⁠

Back in action starting Monday, 1/24/22! All service will resume starting with the 7am ferry.

Freight service will resume Monday, 1/24/2022 and Passenger service Tuesday, 1/25/2022

If you need to retrieve your vehicle from our parking lot. The lot will be open on today, Saturday and tomorrow, Sunday between 9:00am- 1:00pm.
The terminal will be open during weekdays from 9am-3pm

Today, Friday, 1/21/22 service is running as scheduled.
