Thriving and Surviving’s monthly meeting in Baxley will be on Tuesday, September 26th! 🤍💜

To better accommodate our friends attending Thriving and Surviving in Baxley, we have moved all monthly meetings held at Charlotte Gore Center to the 4th Tuesday of each month starting in September! ✨💜

Through this group, our goal is to encourage and assist all women in their journey of learning to thrive in their survival of life. If you want an awesome girl group to laugh and grow with, support in your daily duties, or want to learn more about topics like budgeting or mental health - this is the group for you!

Bring a friend and join us in Jesup on the 1st Tuesday or in Baxley on the 4th Tuesday of each month for Thriving and Surviving! ✨

If the lack of childcare is hindering you from attending, please contact our office at (912)559-9290 to arrange childcare for the duration of the meeting. 🤍

If you have missed out on previous meetings, Thursday is another chance to join us for Thriving and Surviving at 181 N Main Street from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM! 💜💙

We have partnered with Safe Harbor’s Sexual Assault Center and redesigned the group to focus not only on life after domestic violence but sexual assault also. So, everything third Thursday, all women who have experienced hardships and traumas associated with either, domestic violence or sexual assault, are encouraged to join us as we learn how to thrive in our survival. 💜✨

‼️SAVE THE DATE‼️ The Coalition for a Healthy Appling County’s 2nd Annual Crime Victims Rights 5k will take place Saturday, April 29th at 9:30AM. Be on the lookout for location, sponsorship opportunities, registration applications, and more!

Mark your calendars for October 26th and join us at the Fair Haven Market for a remembrance vigil honoring the 163 individuals who lost their lives to domestic violence in the state of Georgia in 2021. Although this is an all day event, we will hold a ceremony at 11AM to verbally call out the names and ages of those who were not able to become survivors.

If you have not yet attended an annual vigil, please considering attending this year. By remembering the men and women who have suffered at the hands of their abuser, we can come together and show our support for the families who no longer have a loved one to hold. This is a time of remembrance and prayer that we, as a community, can come together to end the stigma of domestic violence.

Additionally, we want to thank our sponsor, Truist, for covering all costs for this event. Local support and generosity like theirs’ is how we can continue to serve men, women, and children facing domestic violence situations in our community. 💜

The Charlotte Gore Center provides a number of services, and we are proud to serve Appling and Jeff Davis counties!

Everyone meet Jennifer! Jennifer Priester is the Outreach Coordinator for Fair Haven. She provides case management services and support to the families transitioned from the shelter into their own homes. She also provides supportive services to clients that are not in need of shelter, but need support navigating through the recovery process. Jennifer also works as a Victim Advocate at the Charlotte Gore Center. Her role includes completing the intake for new victims, providing a variety of victim advocacy services and spreading awareness within the community. In her free time, she enjoys spending with her family and close friends.
