🚨 DOUBLE REPORTING ALERT 🚨

If you have a charged-off account that was later sent or sold to a collection agency, pay close attention 👀

👉 The original creditor should report a $0 balance
👉 The collection agency may report the balance
🚫 You cannot owe the same balance twice

If BOTH are reporting a balance, that is inaccurate reporting.

📌 Example:
• Wells Fargo (Original Creditor)
• Midland Credit Management (Collection Agency)

If this is on your credit report, here’s what to tell the bureaus ⬇️

🗣️ WHAT TO SAY WHEN YOU DISPUTE:

“I am disputing inaccurate information on my credit report.
The same alleged debt is being reported by both the original creditor and a collection agency with an active balance.
If the account was charged off and transferred, the original creditor should be reporting a zero balance.
Please investigate and correct or remove any inaccurate reporting in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.”
