Unfortunately, this original all wood fixed door did not hold up to Louisiana weather enough to keep this homeowner's wood floors from being damaged by water infiltration and condensation. During our demolition, we found no threshold sealant or flashing of any kind. So when these doors started to leak, the wood floor was 1st in line to be damaged. We fixed all this by installing the proper seals, flashing the threshold, and then installing a new lifetime warrantied Jeld-Wen Window! We work with YOUR budget! This job was a perfect example of how we try to accomplish your needs while keeping within your budget.

In replacing these rotted wood doors, I would have preferred a wood/clad door or a composite fiberglass door so we could keep it all non-rot materials. Unfortunately, that was not an option for this homeowner's budget. So, the next best thing we could do in their price range was a solid Mahogany custom wood door. We started by making the inactive (left) side of the door permanently fixed. This allowed us to caulk seal that entire half of the door to prevent future wood rot or leaking. Then, we spray finished the exterior in a controlled shop environment for the best exterior seal possible. Finally, we added flashing in the wall during installation and capped it all of with non-rot composite brickmoulding. All this was accomplished with only 1 day of installing the products into the home! In the end, they got the same look with a far superior product. With yearly maintenance, this door should last them more than 15 more years! Doing it right, within your budget!
