Our students are making the most of their summer internship experiences and gaining valuable real-world skills across Baton Rouge! From serving their communities to learning directly from industry professionals, these interns are building the foundation for future success.

Through EBR's Learn & Earn Internship Program, students are developing workplace skills, building professional networks, exploring career pathways, and gaining hands-on experience that will prepare them for college and careers.

America’s Workforce Academy: The Future Is for Everyone Meta is launching America’s Workforce Academy (AWA), nationwide a program designed to fast-track participants to long-term careers in skilled trades.

No matter what type of financial aid you’re looking for or what schools you’re applying to, it all starts with the FAFSA®!

During the 2025-26 school year, the percentage of EBR Schools students in kindergarten through third grade reading on or above grade level increased from 48% to 62% — a 14-point gain and the highest early literacy performance on record for our district.

Even more impressive, kindergarten students posted a 28-point increase, rising from 36% to 64% reading on or above grade level by the end of the year.

Big news for Baton Rouge!

Meta has selected Baton Rouge as one of only four pilot cities nationwide for its new AI Workforce Training Program.

This program is designed to prepare local residents for the skilled trades and technical careers needed to build the infrastructure that powers artificial intelligence, including electricians, fiber optic technicians, line workers, data center construction professionals, and other in demand occupations.

Today, we had the opportunity to learn, connect, and collaborate at the GBRIA 2026 Plant Leadership Conference and Industry Expo.

Highlights of the day included:
✅ An outstanding keynote presentation from Dr. Thomas Karam on the importance of personal branding and how individuals can position themselves for success in today's workforce.
✅ Meaningful conversations with local industry partners that will help create additional opportunities and career pathways for East Baton Rouge students.
✅ Engaging breakout sessions focused on leadership, workforce trends, and industry best practices.
✅ An insightful panel discussion exploring current industry challenges and opportunities facing employers throughout our region.
✅ A chance to explore the Industry Expo and learn about the many high-wage, high-demand careers available right here in Baton Rouge and across our region.

Experiences like these help strengthen the connection between education and industry, ensuring that our students are prepared for success in college, careers, and life.

First day of our EBRPSS Summer E-sports Internship Program is underway!

Today we are starting with thought-provoking questions to see where our students’ mindset is on day one. We will ask those same questions again on the last day and see how much they have grown.

A lot of fun and learning is ahead. These students will get hands-on experience in leadership, broadcasting, marketing, cyber, management, event operations, and much more.

This is where students don’t just play — they learn how to lead.

Last week, Broadmoor High had the privilege of welcoming Turner Industries, now an official sponsor of EBR Broadmoor High School Welding class—and this is exactly what it’s all about.

Strong partnerships that create real opportunities.
Turner Industries met with our NCCER CORE class and several students interested in careers with their company. They shared valuable insights, brought a new banner for our classroom and shop, and most importantly, reinforced their commitment to our students.

We are proud to have Turner Industries as a partner—not only with Broadmoor High School, but with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. This collaboration opens doors for students who are ready to enter the workforce after high school or continue their training through an ABC program, leading to both further education and job placement.
