New Schools for Baton Rouge is excited to be part of One Piece at a Time at the Louisiana Old Governors Mansion on Sunday, October 4, from 12–4 p.m. Admission is FREE.

Be sure to stop by and meet the team along with representatives from Harvest Commons School, Audubon Charter Baton Rouge , Bridge Academy, and Prescott Academy.

Families can enjoy a Halloween scavenger hunt through the Mansion, collect puzzle pieces along the way, create pumpkins in the Rose Garden and connect with community partners throughout the afternoon.

Teach for America expands into West Baton Rouge Parish as students show improvement across the state BATON ROUGE — Teach for America welcomed a new generation of educators in West Baton Rouge Parish for the 2026-27 school year.

Congratulations to Collegiate Baton Rouge!

We’re excited to celebrate Collegiate Baton Rouge for being named a 2026 Jostens Renaissance Silver School of Distinction! Collegiate is one of only three schools in Louisiana to receive this recognition.

Collegiate Student Ambassadors recently represented their school at the Jostens Renaissance Global Conference in Orlando, where they celebrated this achievement and the role students play in building the culture of their school.

We’re proud of NSBR’s Managing Director of School Leadership, Rachel Brown, who recently joined Teach For America Greater Baton Rouge for a panel discussion during its annual Board Retreat.

As a alum, Rachel reflected on what first inspired her to join Teach For America, how that experience has shaped her career in education, and the work she is leading today to help strengthen public education. She also shared her perspective on what it will take to build on that progress and create even greater opportunities for students in the years ahead.
