๐จ TAX REFUND ALERT ๐จ๐ธ๐ฒ
Next week is when refunds really start moving, so let me educate you before the panic posts take over ๐๐๐ฝ
๐ PATH ACT IS LIVE
If you claimed:
๐ถ๐ฝ Dependents
๐ฐ Earned Income Credit (EIC)
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC)
Your refund has been on a legal IRS hold. That hold is lifting. This happens every single year. Once PATH goes live, refunds release in waves ๐ not all at once.
๐ REFUND MOVEMENT YOUโLL START SEEING
โ
Transcripts updating
โ
Status changing to Approved
โ
Deposit dates populating
โ
Banks showing pending deposits
This is the normal IRS process not delays, not problems, not errors.
๐ฆ EARLY DEPOSIT EXPLAINED โฉ๐ต
Some banks allow tax professionals to see upcoming refund deposits up to 5 days in advance. That means we can see the deposit is scheduled before it actually hits your account and notify our clients ahead of time.
This does NOT mean the IRS paid you early.
It means the bank already has the deposit.
So if someone gets paid before you, that does NOT mean something is wrong ๐
๐ฝโโ๏ธ
๐ IMPORTANT REMINDERS
โข Refunds are released in batches
โข WMR updates once per day ๐
โข Banks post deposits differently ๐ฆ
โข Approved โ instant deposit โณ
๐Next week is about movement. If you filed correctly and claimed PATH credits, your refund is in motion.
Save this ๐
Because next weekโฆ refunds are about to get REAL LOUD ๐ธ๐ฅ
Your tax preparer really just worked 30+ days for FREE ๐ฎโ๐จ
Waiting on refundsโฆ answering textsโฆ doing the MOST.
At least leave them a review โญ๏ธ
๐จ IMPORTANT IRS UPDATE โ READ THIS ๐จ
With the government shutdown, YES โ IRS refunds can be impacted this tax season.
Hereโs the REAL tea ๐งพ๐๐ฝ
โข The IRS may continue processing returns, BUT delays are possible
โข Returns that need manual review (errors, identity verification, missing info) could take LONGER
โข Paper-filed returns = slower
โข E-file + direct deposit = your BEST bet
โผ๏ธ The filing deadline DOES NOT change
Shutdown or not, April 15 is still April 15. Penalties and interest still apply if you donโt file or extend.
๐ก How to protect yourself:
โ๏ธ File EARLY
โ๏ธ E-file only
โ๏ธ Choose direct deposit
โ๏ธ Make sure your info is CORRECT
โ๏ธ Stop waiting until the last minute expecting miracles ๐
โ ๏ธ And please remember โ if refunds are delayed due to IRS operations, your tax preparer cannot speed that up. We file it. The IRS controls the rest.
Iโll keep yโall updated as things develop ๐
Questions? Book a consultation โ donโt panic, get informed.
๐ซ
Can you claim your spouse as a dependent? ๐ค
Answer: โ No, you canโt!
Hereโs why: The IRS sees your spouse as your partner, not a dependent. When youโre married, you file Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately meaning both of you are taxpayers, not one claiming the other.
๐ Dependents are usually children or qualifying relatives you support not your spouse.
But the good news: filing jointly with your spouse gives you the highest standard deduction and better tax benefits!
๐จ IRS UPDATE! ๐จ
๐
TODAY 1/26/26 the IRS is OFFICIALLY OPEN and is now accepting tax returns ๐
That means:
โ
Returns can now be e-filed & accepted
โ
Refunds are officially in motion
โ
Advances will begin processing once accepted
โ
No more โpending for IRS openingโ
๐ก A few important reminders:
โข Refunds are not issued the same day you file
โข PATH Act returns (EITC/CTC) will start seeing movement mid-February
โข Make sure your documents are accurate (names, SSNs, dependents )
โข Respond quickly if we reach out for anything additional
๐ If you already submitted an intake form:
Youโre in line and will be contacted if anything is needed ๐
๐ If you havenโt filed yet:
Now is the time! Donโt wait until the rush hits ๐
This group will continue to be used for:
โ๏ธ IRS updates
โ๏ธ Refund timelines
โ๏ธ Common tax questions
โ๏ธ Breaking tax law changes
Weโre officially in FULL TAX SEASON MODE ๐ฃ๏ธ๐ผ
Letโs get these returns filed the RIGHT way ๐ฏ
Please Please Please Donโt Contact Me Saying You Need a $10,000 Refund And You Have 1 Dependent And No Income The Answer Is Hell No
We not going to jail for no one
๐จHEAD OF HOUSEHOLD CONFUSION ENDS HERE ๐จ
Because the internet is mixing things up BAD ๐ฎโ๐จ๐ฃ
โจ Head of Household is a FILING STATUS
โจ It is NOT a deduction
โจ It is NOT the same as Single
Letโs be clear ๐๐ฝ
Yes Head of Household filers are considered unmarried for tax purposes
That does NOT mean you have to be โsingleโ in real life โ
It means unmarried or legally separated as of December 31
Now the BIG misconception ๐
Head of Household does NOT use the Single deduction
It has its OWN higher standard deduction ๐ฐ
Approx 2024 numbers
Single โ $14,600
Head of Household โ $21,900
Married Filing Joint โ $29,200
So when people say ๐๐พ
โIf you donโt get $23k you must file Singleโ ๐ซWRONG
To qualify for Head of Household you MUST
โ๏ธ Be unmarried for tax purposes
โ๏ธ Pay MORE than half the household costs ๐
โ๏ธ Have a qualifying person living with you most of the year ๐ถ๐ฝ
This status exists to help people who are carrying households ๐ช๐ฝ
Filing it wrong
๐ฉ Delays refunds
๐ฉ Audit risk
๐ฉ Paybacks with penalties
Filing Single when you qualify for HOH ๐ธ Leaves money on the table๐ฏ
Moral of the story ๐ฅ Your filing status is based on FACTS, Not FB opinions, Not refundsโผ๏ธ
If this helped save it ๐ If you still unsure ask BEFORE filingโผ๏ธ
๐จ YES A TAX RETURN CAN LEGALLY COST $1,000+
๐จ NO THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT A SCAM
Before the internet gets loud and wrong, letโs be clear ๐ข
๐งพ The IRS does NOT cap tax preparation fees
โ There is no law saying a return must cost $200, $300, or what someone else paid
๐ก Tax preparation fees are based on:
๐ Complexity of the return
โฑ๏ธ Time required
โ ๏ธ Risk assumed
๐ Experience & expertise
๐ข Business / self-employment filings
๐ณ Credits claimed
๐ Compliance & due diligence
๐ Audit exposure
๐ก๏ธ Legal liability the preparer takes on
๐๐ฝ A basic W-2 with no dependents โ
๐๐ฝ Multiple incomes, self-employment, credit eligibility, reconciliations, transcripts, and compliance reviews
โ ๏ธ The same people questioning professional fees
are often the first ones panicking when:
๐ฉ The IRS audits the return
โธ๏ธ Refunds are frozen or delayed
โฉ๏ธ Credits are reversed
๐ธ Or thousands are owed back
๐ฌ Low-cost preparation often leads to high-cost problems
๐ Youโre not paying for a number on a screen
Youโre paying for:
โ
Accuracy
๐ Documentation
๐ Compliance
๐ง Experience
๐ฌ And a preparer who stands behind the work when IRS letters show up
๐ All returns are NOT the same
๐ All preparers are NOT equal
๐ And all money is NOT good money
If youโre looking for cheap there are options
If youโre looking for CORRECT choose wisely โจ
