Humble Takeover was created in 2013 while serving as class president at Southern University. During one of our nightly meetings, the class cabinet and I were thinking of a name that would describe our class in a dope way - just as Phil Jackson named his final season with the Bulls “The Last Dance.”

We wanted to make our presence known everywhere and takeover “The Yard”. After a few failed attempts a light bulb exploded in my mental. I remember saying “what about calling us the Humble Takeover.”

The room lit up and the cabinet became extremely excited. Soon after we coined the phrase “Live Humble. Born 2 Takeover.” The next few years at Southern University our class was know as the Humble Takeover Administration!

I created the name Humble Takeover while at Southern University in 2013. I recall buying 1,000 Humble Takeover wristbands with no clear vision of where I wanted to take the brand during it’s inception.

After college, in 2017, I started teaching in secondary education. During this chapter of my story, my students consistently taught me about myself.

At the end of my first year of teaching, I gifted the wristbands that I purchased in 2013 to the students at the school as encouragement for their state mandated test.

At that moment, I knew this brand would be a platform to empower generations everywhere to Live Humble through success and failure, Believe in their Purpose, Achieve the unimaginable, and Conquer the World.

My students are one of my biggest inspirations behind Humble Takeover.

Today, the class I started with are now High School graduates.
