🚸 Obey Crossing Guards: Louisiana law gives crossing guards the authority to stop traffic—even if your light is green. Always follow their hand signals!
🛑 Stop for Buses: You must stop at least 30 feet away from a school bus with flashing red lights. On undivided roads, this applies to both directions.
📱 Stay Off the Phone: All Louisiana school zones are strictly hands-free during posted hours.Let's slow down, leave a few minutes early, and keep our neighborhood safe! ❤️

As America celebrates 250 years of independence, we also honor the visionaries whose leadership helped unite the colonies before the Declaration of Independence was ever signed.

On September 5, 1774, Peyton Randolph was unanimously elected as the first President of the Continental Congress, leading the delegates as they took the first united steps toward American liberty. Elected again on May 10, 1775, he is often remembered as "The Forgotten Revolutionary President."

We also recognize Edmund Randolph, Peyton Randolph's nephew, who later introduced the Virginia Plan at the Constitutional Convention of 1787—a blueprint that became the foundation of our United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

FLAG DAY 2026

On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress passed a resolution stating: "The flag of the United States shall be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white, with a union of thirteen stars of white on a blue field...". The flag represents liberty, justice, and the foundational precepts of self-governance upon which our nation was built. The 13 stripes symbolize the original colonies, while the 50 stars represent each state in the Union.
