I was honored to attend a reception aboard HMS Trent at the invitation of His Britannic Majesty’s Consul General Richard Shackleton as part of Sail 250 New Orleans. This international maritime celebration brings together tall ships and naval vessels from around the world, and it was a pleasure to join fellow leaders and guests for an evening of fellowship and friendship along the Mississippi River.

Creole tomato season is treating us well at Strain Farm! 🍅 Picked a beautiful basket this weekend, and they sure are hard to beat fresh off the vine. Louisiana-grown goodness at its finest!

This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to protecting the freedoms we cherish will never be forgotten. As we gather with family and friends, let us remember the true meaning of this day and keep the families of our fallen heroes in our thoughts and prayers. God bless America. 🇺🇸

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to lead a Louisiana trade delegation to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, where we met with government officials and private sector leaders to strengthen trade relationships and explore opportunities.

Yesterday, I was pleased to welcome a delegation from Côte d’Ivoire to LDAF headquarters for a return visit as we continue building on those important partnerships and expanding opportunities for Louisiana agriculture and forestry.

Susan and I enjoyed attending the Louisiana Land Bank Customer Appreciation event last night at the LSU Rural Life Museum. It was a wonderful evening visiting with friends, including Stephen Austin and his granddaughter, Nora Katherine.

Enjoyed visiting with everyone at the Regional Cattlemen’s Meeting in Alexandria and sharing the latest updates on the New World Screwworm. I also appreciated the opportunity to visit with Mike Dominique and Reggie Lucas as the LSU AgCenter conducted an impressive drone and hay demonstration. Always great to see innovation and collaboration supporting Louisiana agriculture and forestry.

One of the best parts of serving as Commissioner is the opportunity to visit with so many wonderful people at the Capitol each day. I always enjoy the conversations, the fellowship, and the chance to connect with folks from across Louisiana. Today included visits from the Young Cattlemen’s Leadership Group and my Goddaughter, Cara — both highlights of a great day at the Capitol.

Enjoyed celebrating the Louisiana Purchase at the Old State Capitol last evening. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our state’s rich history and the people and traditions that continue to make Louisiana so special.
