Big win for Louisiana families! Gov. Landry has signed HB 232 into law, authored by Rep. Josh Carlson. This legislation removes burdensome work permit requirements from school boards and puts parents back in charge of whether their teen works. Louisiana students now have fewer barriers standing between them and their first job.

SUN Bucks distribution will begin tomorrow. https://ldh.la.gov/page/sun-bucks

LDH will begin issuing SUN Bucks this week. The program provides $120 in grocery benefits to help ensure children who receive free or reduced-price school meals get the nutrition they need when schools are closed for summer break. Children who are automatically enrolled should see SUN Bucks added to their EBT card between Wednesday, May 27, and Tuesday, June 2.
