💡 🧠 LERN's Sarah Templet and Yvette Legendre recently facilitated a Stroke Recognition and Response class at Lane Regional Medical Center, helping healthcare professionals strengthen their ability to identify and respond to stroke emergencies. 🧠 💡

Participants also had the opportunity to learn from Aly Adams with Penumbra, Inc., who demonstrated a flow model showing how a thrombectomy is performed for eligible stroke patients. This hands-on demonstration provided valuable insight into the life-saving interventions available for stroke care.

🦺 June is National Safety Month 🦺 A time to raise awareness about preventing injuries and promoting safer communities. Sarah Templet with LERN recently visited The Safety Place - Safety & Injury Prevention to understand more about the work they do centered in injury prevention education.

Through hands-on, interactive learning experiences, The Safety Place teaches children and families essential safety skills that help prevent injuries and save lives. From traffic safety to home safety and emergency preparedness, their programs empower people with knowledge they can carry for a lifetime.

✨ Spotted ✨ LERN recently partnered with healthcare professionals from across the region to teach a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) class at Iberia Medical Center. 👏👏👏

Participants attended from Iberia Medical Center, Bayou Bend Health System, Our Lady of Lourdes Health, and Ochsner University Hospital & Clinics. Sarah Templet and Yvette Legendre with LERN were joined by Mark Morris with Acadian Air Med and Christin Mohon with the Ochsner Lafayette General Trauma Program to provide this valuable trauma nursing education and hands-on learning opportunity.
