LEARN ABOUT BRAF-PROPOSED CHANGES TO CITY PARK, BROOKS PARK, AND CITY PARK GOLF COURSE — The Chamber of Commerce of East Baton Rouge Parish invites you to learn more about plans for the City Park area at the Chamber EBR meeting at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Speakers will include:

• Brittany Marshall of the Old South Baton Rouge Development Group

METRO COUNCIL PLANS TO HIRE A PARISH ATTORNEY WITHOUT TAKING APPLICATIONS. John McClindon is set to become the new Parish Attorney if some members of the Metro Council have their way. They have called a special meeting at 3 p.m. to name McLindon to the important position without posting the vacancy and taking applications from other candidates.
McLindon is a criminal defense lawyer, who is currently representing people close to the current or past Council and individuals who have been charged with crimes related to the past administration. His website says that his specialties are:
