One of the biggest questions people have as they approach retirement is simple:

Will my money last?

The answer depends on more than just how much you’ve saved. Your spending, investment strategy, inflation, healthcare costs, Social Security decisions, and how long you may need your income to last can all play a role.

A retirement plan should be designed to help you prepare for both the expected and the unexpected.

If this is a question you’ve been asking yourself, reach out. We can take a look at where you are today and what steps may help you feel more prepared for the years ahead.

Labor Day is often thought of as the unofficial end of summer, but its history is about much more than a three-day weekend.

The holiday has its roots in the American labor movement of the late 1800s, a time when the country was rapidly industrializing. Many Americans worked long hours in factories, mines, railroads, construction, and other demanding jobs. Labor organizations were growing and advocating for better working conditions, shorter workdays, and greater recognition of the contributions workers made to the nation’s prosperity.

On September 5, 1882, the first Labor Day celebration was held in New York City. Thousands of workers participated in a parade organized by the Central Labor Union, followed by a gathering for workers and their families. The idea quickly spread.

States soon began officially recognizing the holiday. Oregon became the first state to pass a Labor Day law in 1887, and other states followed. By 1894, the movement had gained enough support that Congress passed legislation establishing Labor Day as a federal holiday. President Grover Cleveland signed it into law on June 28, 1894, designating the first Monday in September as Labor Day.

For more than 130 years, Labor Day has served as a national recognition of the social and economic contributions of American workers.

So while we may celebrate today with cookouts, family gatherings, travel, or simply a well-earned day off, the meaning behind Labor Day is worth remembering. It is a day to recognize the generations of people whose hard work, skill, determination, and ingenuity have helped build and strengthen our country.

Happy Labor Day to all who work hard every day to make a difference in their workplaces, families, and communities. 🇺🇸

Trump Accounts are a new savings option designed to help families build a financial foundation for children—but they’re not necessarily the right fit for everyone.

This quick primer breaks down how they work, the main benefit, and how they compare with other options like 529 Plans, custodial Roth IRAs, and UTMAs.

The best account depends on your goals, timeline, and how you want the money to be used in the future.

Have questions about which option may make the most sense for your family? I’m always happy to help you look at the bigger picture.

When it comes to saving for long-term goals, it’s easy to think, “I’ll start when I can afford to put away more.”

But waiting for the “perfect” time can mean giving up something valuable: time.

Starting with an amount that fits your budget and building from there can be more manageable than waiting and trying to catch up later.

The goal isn’t to start perfectly. It’s to start with a plan you can stick with.

FINANCIAL MYTH MONDAY 💰

❌ MYTH: I need to be completely debt-free before I start saving or investing.

✅ REALITY: It doesn’t always have to be one or the other.

Depending on your situation, you may be able to work toward paying down debt while also building savings and preparing for the future. Even small, consistent steps can add up over time.

The key is finding the right balance for your financial picture and priorities.

Progress doesn’t have to happen all at once. A thoughtful plan can help you decide which steps make sense—and when.

You don’t need to track every financial number, but there are a few worth knowing. 💰

Start with these three:

📊 Monthly spending: Do you know where your money is actually going?

☂️ Emergency savings: How many months of essential expenses could you cover if something unexpected happened?

🌴 Retirement savings rate: What percentage of your income are you putting toward your future?

Knowing where you stand today can make it easier to decide where you want to go next.

You don’t have to know every number. Start with the ones that help you make better decisions.

FINANCIAL MYTH MONDAY

❌ MYTH:
“I need a lot of money before it’s worth meeting with a financial advisor.”

✅ REALITY:
Financial planning isn’t only about managing a large investment portfolio.

A financial professional can help you think through things like:

• Setting financial goals
• Building a savings strategy
• Planning for retirement
• Preparing for major life expenses
• Understanding your investment options
• Making sure the different pieces of your financial life work together

You don’t have to wait until you’ve “made it” to start planning.

Sometimes, having a plan is part of how you get there.

As AI becomes part of everyday life, more people are using it to ask questions about money, investing, debt, and financial planning.

It can be a useful educational resource—but there’s an important distinction between asking a general financial question and sharing sensitive personal financial data.

Protect identifying information, avoid sharing detailed financial documents or account information, and verify the answers you receive. Most importantly, remember that an AI response may not account for every factor that makes your financial situation unique.

Use AI to learn and ask better questions, then use trusted financial professionals and reliable sources to help make informed decisions.
