Welcome to IMPRESSIONIST EXPRESSIONS! This is where I share my inner world of color and imagination Hello, and welcome to my inner world of colors!
My introduction to art was at an early age, with several of my family members sketching, painting and making mixed-media works for pleasure. I was briefly trained in watercolors, and often used art as a way of expressing my deepest emotions which words could not convey. Then, life intervened, and I lost touch with art for several years. A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. All
of a sudden, I found myself unable to work as much as I used to and realized that I needed a way to destress and grapple with the many emotions that comes with dealing with chronic pain. Always interested in oil painting, I was finally inspired by Bob Ross to give it a go! Once I got started, I really connected with oil paints as my medium of choice and decided to pursue painting in earnest. My paintings are not just how I see the world around me, but they are painted with a certain feeling behind them - I paint how I feel the world around me. A huge fan of the impressionists and post-impressionists, I try to use various colors and color combinations to evoke certain moods in my paintings, to match my own at the time of painting them. I hope that by viewing these paintings, you can connect to those feelings that they were painted with, and that would bring me the greatest joy as an artist!
