We are a group of enthusiastic undergraduate and graduate students studying fish physiology with Dr. Fernando Galvez at Louisiana State University!
Dr. Fernando Galvez is an associate professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University and supports both undergraduate and graduate students in his lab. Current research includes cardiovascular development, environmental toxicology, and changes in channel regulation as a result of environmental stressors. Department of Biological Sciences

This past week, Chelsea, Charlie and Fern attended the 2016 NIEHS Oceans and Human Health Conference in North Carolina to present their research examining the impact of oil exposure on the development of different populations of Gulf killfiish embryos. Way to go!

One of our undergrads, Ryan, will be giving a presentation on his research at LSU Discovery Day this coming Thursday, April 7th. He will be giving his talk at 9:15 a.m. in the Red River Room at the LSU Union. Hope to see you there!

Chelsea and Ryan went on a fish collection trip this past weekend on the Gulf and Atlantic coasts to catch some rainwater killifish, bluefin killifish, and Gulf killifish. It was a beautiful weekend!
