I never thought a Knicks Championship would ever happen in my lifetime. And yet, every single year no matter what 5 guys were on the court wearing the orange and blue, I deseperatly hoped it would.

This championship was for the fans like me that watched almost every game over the last 53 (mainly) terrible years - even when our starting lineup had guys like Lance Thomas, or Eddy Curry or (gulp) Jared Jeffries. For the fans that stood by when Isiah Thomas was president or Phil Jackson drafted guys to "fit the triangle offense". Getting knocked out of the playoffs by our biggest rivals the past 3 years. There's been so much pain...

So yes I balled my eyes out crying after they won game 5. I called my dad's best friend, Jay, who I wouldn't be a Knicks fan if it wasn't for him & my dad going in on season tickets back in 1969. When he said "Donnie's (my dad) is celebrating above" I lost it.

Think about the very first memory of your life.When you were little, what was it? for me, It's going to a game with my dad looking up at Charles Oakley and Patrick Ewing and thinking they were the giants in my fairy tales. Almost every school project or report about "my heroes" in elementary school was about a Knicks Player. I made a frickin Knicks clock in shop class. Literally obsessed

But the best memory of all? Going into the city for game 4, and watching at a bar by MSG with my mom and brother. The entire bar was locked in - it was insanely loud when we cut a 20 point lead to 18 and to experience a 29 point comeback & the OG tip in, the greatest play on Knicks History, with family in the city?? Hugging random strangers, the whole bar chanting DE-FENSE, shouting KNICKS IN FIVE. Life highlight

When my dad coached my basketball teams he had a saying "Every Rebound, Every Loose Ball" - I texted that to my family during the final minutes of game 5 and wouldn't you know it, My favorite and longest tenured Knick Mitchell Robinson got the offensive rebound to at the end of game 5 to secure the championship. Over the weekend I won Station of The Year at the Colorado Broadcasters Awards. I can't put into words how immensely proud I am of this team, how grateful I am for them. "Success isn't success unless you have someone to share it with (if ya know ya know 🏒) - well I have a lot of amazing people to share this with 🥰 (and had to treat the trophy like the Stanley Cup 😂)
