Sanding is a necessary but somewhat tedious and unpleasant part of woodworking. It involves working through the grits, coarse to finer until the surface is smooth and free of tool marks.
Wood glue is amazingly strong. You know you’re close to completion because gluing is one of the final operations. There is no better spreader than an index finger!
A miter saw makes cutting to final length quick and accurate. A miter saw station should have a way to set stops so repeat cuts are exactly the same.
The table saw left a slight ridge on the tapered legs. The ridge was quickly removed using a hand plane.
Using a table saw to cut a taper makes the operation go quickly and accurately. Care must be taken to avoid the blade and kickback from the workpiece.
Ripping wood to width on a table saw. This brand is equipped with a system to stop the blade from cutting the user. It’s named SawStop. Its inventor did not patent the device so others can offer this safety to woodworkers.
