Remembering Mom….

In Memory of a beautiful servant of the Lord .... my Mom...Betty W. Greenup:

Betty Jean Washington Greenup was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on October 24, 1935 to the late Alice Kennerson Washington and the late Seamon Washington, Sr.

She was married to Louis S. Greenup, Sr. From this marriage, three children were born: Louis S. Greenup, Jr., Andre' T. Greenup, Sr., and Regan S. Greenup.

She attended and graduated from McKinley Senior High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and attended Southern A&M University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She worked at Ethyl Corporation as a Mail Clerk for many years until the plant closed in 1983. She then worked as the Financial Administrator for Christ the Deliverer Assembly until her retirement.

Betty W. Greenup accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized in 1974. She then led each of her children to Christ and began holding services in her living room where she planted the seeds that would eventually grow into the ministries of both of her sons: Christ the Deliverer Assembly under Louis Greenup, Jr. and Sending Out The Word Ministries under Andre` Greenup, Sr., both of which she was a member. She served in many capacities for the church: Board Member, Women's Fellowship Leader, Founder and President of “The Guardians of the Anointing” (Usher Ministry), Counselor, Teacher, Intercessor and a Prayer Warrior who led many souls to Christ. She had a deep commitment to Christ and a love for the Word, praise and worship, and ministry to others. She was affectionately known as “Mother Betty”, “Mother Agape”, “Sister Betty” and “Maw Maw”. Her love for life, health and wisdom was expressed in her involvement in her social ladies club, Bible Study Classes, YMCA Senior Exercise Class, Tai Chi Class, and certification as a Herbalist.

She went to sleep in the Lord on Oct 8, 2017 and was laid to rest on Oct 20, 2017.

This is the life, love and legacy of my Mom and all those whose lives she touched.
