Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Spring Potluck! It was a wonderful afternoon of food, fellowship, and fun with our parish family.

A special thank you to our Development Committee for organizing this great event!

Today, we gathered with Catholic Charities Diocese of Baton Rouge for the 2026 Hurricane Mass celebrated by Bishop Michael Duca.

As hurricane season begins, we join together in prayer for protection, peace, and safety for all throughout our community and beyond. Thank you to everyone who worshiped and prayed with us today.

This will be at noon central time. Division and discord exist. Prayer is an integral part of our experience as Christians and we rely on the mercy of God and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit when our own words and actions aren’t enough.

To accompany his constant calls for peace in the world, Pope Leo XIV will lead the prayer of the Holy Rosary on May 30 at 7:00 PM Rome time from the Vatican Gardens.

He will lead the faithful in Shrines around the world in praying the Joyful Mysteries, with each decade being dedicated specifically for those affected by war and violence and entrusting them to the intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace.

The first mystery prays for the victims of war, especially the most vulnerable, while the second is for those who bring words of hope and the comfort of faith to populations affected by war. The third recalls the medical and paramedical personnel and volunteers who bring humanitarian aid every day.

The fourth mystery prays for those who suffer the violence of war, for prisoners and for all who endure humiliations that violate human dignity. The fifth and final Joyful Mystery is dedicated to praying for an end to war and the establishment of lasting peace in the world.

Join us this Friday, May 29 at Noon at St. Joseph Cathedral in Baton Rouge for the 2026 Hurricane Mass, held in conjunction with Catholic Charities Diocese of Baton Rouge, as we come together in prayer for a peaceful and quiet hurricane season. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Michael Duca. All are welcome!

Congratulations, Father Cary Bani, on 19 years of priesthood! Today we give thanks to the Lord for calling you to communion with the eternal priesthood of Jesus Christ and for serving His Church. May God deepen your grace, and may you continue to renew the dedication you made to Jesus Christ and His Church, remaining close to the divine Master and faithful in stewarding His mysteries.

On this Pentecost Sunday, our Cathedral welcomed more than 100 candidates from parishes across the diocese who received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Duca and Bishop Emeritus Muench.

We give thanks to the Holy Spirit for moving in the hearts of all those confirmed today, and we pray that they will continue to grow in faith, courage, and love for Christ and his Church. Congratulations to all who received the Sacrament of Confirmation!

Today we thank God for the gift of mothers — for their love, prayers, guidance, and unwavering faith. May the Blessed Virgin Mary watch over and intercede for all mothers today and always.

Congratulations to Marcus and Benjamin on making their First Holy Communion! We thank their families and everyone who helped them prepare, and we ask the parish to pray for them as they grow closer to Jesus.

We had a great time at our ministry appreciation crawfish boil! Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the day so special. We are so grateful for each of you and all that you do for our church community!
