I love this from Wycliffe. I (Jarrette) once met and spent some time with Salvador when I interviewed him during a visit CONPLEI in Chapada dos Guimarães, Brazil. I have very, very fond memories of this man of God. Cristiano and Eliane Barros also play an integral part in this translation. Please pray for this translation and consider supporting the work they are doing to reach the Kaiwá people with the Gospel.
Salvador, a translator for the Kaiwá people of Brazil, uses all these books to help access the full Scripture—the Kaiwá publications of the New Testament, minor prophets, Psalms and Proverbs book, Genesis book, songbook, and the Portuguese Bible (just in case the reading is from a part of the Old Testament that isn’t translated yet!). Salvador says, “If the Bible came out in one whole book it would be wonderful! That’s a lot to take—I’m getting tired carrying all this weight! If I can carry just one Bible, I will be very happy.” Pray that the full Kaiwá Bible would be completed soon!

WordWinds has been pretty quiet since the Tembé New Testament and Kuhi translation, but keep watch here for new partnerships and new projects.

There is a hunger, a longing for bread
And so comes the call for the poor to be fed
For hungry by far are a billion and more
Who wait for the bread of the Word of the Lord
