This Friday, June 26, is Movie Night in the parish hall, 5-8 pm! We'll be watching "Lilies of the Field," which won Sidney Poitier the Best Actor Academy Award in 1963. The film is family friendly and appropriate for all ages. Free admission. It is based on the novel of the same name by Catholic author William Edmund Barrett. (Does anyone see a possible influence from the miraculous staircase of Lorreto Chapel in Santa Fe, NM?)

Join us Wednesday June 24 at 6:30 pm in the parish hall for our June Book Club meeting. We'll be discussing Mexican Archbishop Luis Martinez's book "Worshipping a Hidden God: Unlocking the Secrets of the Interior Life." Martinez (1881-1956) shows how to live in the obscurity of faith, detached both from consolations and desolations, and why this is best for your soul. The Christian who learns to do this leaves behind the perturbations of the world that shake the faith of those who don’t.

Theology of the Body expert Evan Lemoine will be at St. Agnes for two events in July. For young adults age 18-30 there will be dinner, a talk, and social hour on Friday July 17 from 5:30 to 9 pm. Cost is $10. For married couples there will be two talks on Saturday July 18 from 9:30 am to noon. Cost is $25 per person.
