Metamorpho II v3 is the third time this sculpture has been revived.

Metamorpho 1 was created with black soapstone and the same cast aluminum parts. I made the second version (this one) a few years later. I updated the base and gifted it to friends for their wedding in 1996
•
The current version, v3 is a restoration of the original plus I took a few liberties and carved some new waves and curves into the cherry. Originally I filled all the worm holes with pigmented filler, so this time I replaced it with clear epoxy and I think it really gives it a much better look

High Flight is installed in the Shreveport Regional Airport in Shreveport, Louisiana. It is part of ArtPort 2025 which includes artwork from over 80 local and regional artists and is on display through 2027

My connection to the Shreveport area is a very personal bond to Barksdale Air Force Base near Shreveport. As the son an Air Force officer and growing up within the military realm, a great love of aviation and a deep respect for the service members has been instilled in me. I am very grateful to all who serve and make it possible for us to live in this beautiful, free country as well as fly the most incredible aircraft in the world.
