Update on McKinley street build! Despite all the lingering Covid issues like supply chain problems, computer chip shortages, and lack of labor, the house on W McKinley is nearing completion. Will post some better pics when it’s finalized.

Just had a new house designed, The Charleston! Going to start construction soon on W McKinley Street just north of LSU. I bought this lot with a blighted house on it, literally falling into the street! Chad Herndon and I had a great time demolishing the house and preparing the lot for new construction. Here are some before pictures of the dilapidated house, video of demolition, cleared lot, and a design of what the new house will look like. Cleaning up Old South Baton Rouge one house at a time.

Completed 2 more houses on S 17th street last week, bringing the total to 4 new homes on the street. Really has made a difference in the neighborhood and I hope to acquire more lots in the area to keep the momentum going. Here are the most recent 2 that both sold to LSU Assistant Professors. Enjoy!

Want to extend congratulations to the Williams’ on the closing on their new home! They were a great client and bought the best home I’ve built so far! Check it out: custom designed farmhouse with 12’ ceilings, fireplace, 3 bed/ 2 bath on a large lot. I really like the steps, retaining wall, and landscaping in the front designed by Chris, who owns Plant Tech Nursery. Very classy house with a modern flair!

Here’s a couple of updated pics of the S 17th houses. Coming along well despite the weather making the site a muddy and slippery mess. Thanks to Premier South Roofing for knocking out both roofs before the weather moved in yesterday. If you need any roof work, Premier South is the best!

Sale Pending!! I have accepted an offer on The Farmhouse on S17th! Houses are being sold faster than I can build them. I have another lot across the street that I will be starting another house soon. S 17th street is undergoing a substantial redevelopment.

Update...here’s the house going in next to the one in my previous post. Neat house with a great view. Plumbing, electrical, and hvac this week for both houses. Have had visitors drop by to see the house and 2 viewings by real estate agents and their clients. More to come!

Hello everyone! I’ve started 2 new houses on S 17th right by city park. The are both on a hill, providing a commanding view of the area. More vacant lots are nearby, so,I plan to try and acquire them for more redevelopment. I’ll continue to post pictures as the houses progress.

Today was a great day! Completed the modern farmhouse and passed the final inspections! This was really a fun project and I think it turned out spectacular. The new owners move in next week! The project went so well the neighbor next door now wants me to do a renovation of the shotgun house, built in 1906! That’s going to be a fun project.
