University United Methodist Church

It was a great night of music and community! Our concert featuring Katie Love with Clay Parker and Jodi James raised $1,134 for Front Yard Bikes.

Dustin LaFont, Executive Director of Front Yard Bikes, shared about the organization’s work, and Katie Love debuted two of her songs with the full band, featuring Clay Parker on guitar, David Hinson on bass, and Michael Cole on drums.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this special evening a success!

Join University United Methodist Church and on Sunday, October 4, from 5 - 6 p.m. for our annual Blessing of the Pets! Bring your beloved pets to the UUMC parking lot for an evening of fun, fellowship, and faithful work as we celebrate and give thanks for the animals who bring so much joy to our lives. All pets and their people are welcome!

A Day of Jubilee!

In Leviticus 25, God calls His people to a Jubilee every fiftieth year: debts released, burdens lifted, a fresh start for all.

Dear University Church, we are living a Jubilee! As of October 1, our church's debt is forgiven.

Through the Jubilee Initiative (jubileelouisiana.com), our Bishop and her cabinet have led the Louisiana Annual Conference in cancelling the property debt carried by University Church and other congregations across our connection. More than $56,000 is no longer owed, and the $4,500 monthly payment is gone from our budget for good.

What a glorious way to enter our season of stewardship! Please join me in praising the Lord for this unprecedented generosity, and in giving thanks for our Bishop and her cabinet, who lead us forward in faithful, fruitful stewardship.

With a grateful heart,
Jay

The Habitat Build this past Saturday was a huge success. As normal we started the day with a blessing for the site, the workers and the homeowners.

We started the day with a slab and ended the day with walls for the house. It was super satisfying. Thanks to those who joined; Colleen, Gabe and Riley Puccio; Doreen Maxcy; Jeff Albright; Tonya Eichelberger; and Sheri Lee.

Day One of the Holy Grill was a success. A heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers for your time and service. We are truly grateful for each of you. We look forwards to a wonderful week!
