Growing up in a rural area and working in rural healthcare facilities, I have always had an interest in seeing them succeed. These communities need quality healthcare to survive and so many have closed in the last few years. Rural hospitals, like schools, are the glue keeping rural communities together!

What a great experience it was participating in the Mississippi Rural Health Conference last week in Jackson! Lots of energy, great ideas and great healthcare professionals. Hopefully our presentation enlightened attendees and they will be able to implement some of the strategies for reducing patient leakage and increasing community support for their specific rural hospitals!
