🚨 City-Parish Closure Notice

Out of an abundance of caution due to freezing weather, all City-Parish offices will remain closed Monday, January 26, 2026. Offices will reopen Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Mayor-President Edwards urges residents to avoid travel and monitor official City-Parish channels for updates and safety info. ❄️

In addition to these closings the Chaneyville Community Center will also be closed. Please stay safe everyone!

* East Baton Rouge Parish will be under the following watches:

Winter Storm Watch in effect from 12:00 AM through 6:00 PM Sunday.

Extreme Cold Watch in effect from 6:00 PM Sunday through Tuesday at 12:00 PM.

Chances EBRP will receive freezing rain Saturday through Sunday are continuing to decrease…
* There is a 7% chance that EBRP will receive less than 0.01” of freezing rain Saturday through Sunday.
* There is a 0% chance that EBRP will receive less than 0.10” of freezing rain Saturday through Sunday.

* Main concern for EBRP is prolonged freezing temperatures Monday through Wednesday.

* Monday
Sunny, with a high near 36 and Monday night low around 14 degrees.
EBRP will be below freezing for 15 hours.

* Tuesday
Widespread frost before 10:00 AM. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 42 degrees and Tuesday night lows in the 20s.
EBRP will be below freezing for 18 hours.

* Wednesday

Organized by Sharon McKnight, families picked up their festive birds, shared laughs, and soaked up the warmth of community.
