Our mission is to build a community of creative, confident, and socially engaged students.
Kids’ Orchestra serves elementary-age students through afterschool music education across East Baton Rouge Parish. We provide children in our community with the opportunity to study music, learn an instrument, and perform for audiences.

That’s a wrap on Week 2 of Summer Camp: Once Upon a Tune. This week our students were able to experience history and story telling through music!
Highlights of the week include:
*Zydeco, Blue Grass, Latin Music and Chinese music through different guest artists.
*Field Trip to the Rural Life Museum
*Final concert full of story telling through the music learnt!
We can’t wait to see what our campers do for the 3rd week of camp!

🎶 Continuing to celebrate our afterschool program Spring Concerts with our hardworking students and teachers at McKinley, WHAM, Greenbrier, and Sharon Hills – We are so proud of the work everyone put in this spring! 🎶
• McKinley showcased their ensemble performing skills with all classes giving a joint encore
• WHAM wow’d families with performances from Cello, Violin, Viola and Foundations classes
• Greenbrier showed immense growth with viola and trumpet students gave impressive group and solo performances
• Sharon Hills Foundations, Violin and Trumpet students made teachers and parents proud with their excellent musicianship

📣 That’s a wrap on Week 1 of Summer Camp: Olympic Orchestra! This week, our musicians had a chance to learn fun music, build confidence, and cross the finish line! 📣
🥇🥈🥉We are so proud of the insane amount of progress they made in only 5 days - well deserved medals for all! 🥇🥈🥉
Highlights of the week include:
• Guest string and brass quartets playing familiar sporty tunes
• Field trip to All Star Lanes Bowling Alley for team building
• KO Olympics!
• Dog Therapy brought to us by the amazing Bayou Buddies
• An incredible end-of-week concert !

🎺 Kicking off summer by celebrating all the amazing Spring Neighborhood Concerts that wrapped up our afterschool program sites! We are so proud of the hard work our team put in during the spring semester and the creatively engaging performances our students gave! 🎺
• Park Medical Academy (.ebr) showcased crisp percussion, woodwind and brass techniques
• Dufrocq () skilled group highlight student duets and an innovative electronic music percussion performance
• Audubon (.ebr) displayed confidence and fun with our Foundations, Violin and Trumpet classes
• Wildwood Foundation and viola students exhibited immense growth with our trumpet class giving a fun Star Wars nod to their May 4th concert date!

Our team is growing again! The Chief Operations Officer oversees and/or supervises the coordination, administration and logistics of Kids’ Orchestra, Inc., including fiduciary, technology, and personnel responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned by the CEO based on candidates’ interests, skills, and qualifications. This position will serve our schools across south Louisiana, but will be based out of our Baton Rouge office.
