Louisiana voters will consider proposed constitutional amendments in the November 3, 2026 election.

Yesterday, members of the Louisiana House and Senate came together for a meeting of the Minimum Foundation Program Formula Task Force.

The task force is reviewing Louisiana’s MFP formula and exploring ways to improve transparency, equity, predictability and long-term sustainability in the state’s funding of public education.

Weather Update: The National Hurricane Center is monitoring Tropical Depression Two in the Gulf, which could strengthen into Tropical Storm Bertha.

Please note that complimentary shuttle service will be available for those attending the funeral services honoring Senator Larry Selders on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

The shuttle will provide transportation between Baton Rouge Community College and Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of our colleague and dear friend, Senator Larry Selders.

Larry’s kindness, unwavering optimism, and dedication to the people of Louisiana touched countless lives. He was a friend to all and a public servant who gave his heart to every endeavor.

Please keep his wife, Kendra, their two sons, and all who loved him in your prayers during this difficult time.

His legacy of service will endure, and he will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Senator Larry Selders.
