Out Of Studio Notice (4/21) | Hey all! I’ll be absent from your television screens and socials for the next week. I’m going on a much anticipated vacation.

The weather across the region may get stormy through the weekend, I don’t foresee it being too rough for the Baton Rouge region. Then again, it’s April. So, make sure you’re up to speed with the forecast over the next few days!

Photos are from yesterday, I have more pictures than I know what to do with.

See yall next week!

Wasn’t expecting to see virga on the way into studio today, what a treat!

Virga is a rain shaft that hasn’t quite reached the ground yet, it evaporates/ sublimates before it is able to do so.

Artemis III is well on its way to being launched in 2027! The Michoud Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana completed the rollout of the core stage today.

The Core of Artemis Ill is now fully out of its hanger!

It is approaching a barge named Pegasus where it will then be shipped to Kennedy Space Center in Florida to be put together with the rest of SLS! It’ll take about a week to get there.

One of the most impressive left turns I’ve seen in a while.

The core stage of the Artemis III Space Launch System has begun its rollout!

It is 212 feet long and has a 27.6 ft wide diameter. This part is quite literally the back bone of the rocket and it is integral to getting us off the surface of the Earth!

There is a couple dozen people around it, just to help put in perspective how big this is, they’re in the neon.

Good morning, today’s the day!

The core stage of SLS for Artemis III rolls out of the Michoud Facility in New Orleans this morning!

I’ll posting updates here through the day.

To the moon we go! 🚀

Radar Update & Rainfall Totals (4/19, 10:26 am) | Showers are still attempting to clear out from our southern parishes but, they should head out by midday.

Rainfall amounts from the last 24 hours range from just more than a drizzle to over 2'' (Point Coupee/ New Roads). We get a break from the rain this afternoon through most of Tuesday for those who have to catch up on yard work.
