Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 - October 15. Join us in learning, reflecting on, and celebrating the voices, traditions, and stories that inspire as we honor the cultures of Hispanic and Latino communities.

📆 Monday, Sept. 21 is the final day to apply for our 2026-2027 Community Building Grants!

Past recipient Girls on the Run South Louisiana (GOTR) used Community Building Grants funds to grow its mission of inspiring girls across South Louisiana. Through its programs, GOTR encourages students to get outdoors while providing critical life skills, encouraging self-confidence, and fostering a love of exercise and mobility.

Past recipient Fathers On A Mission (FOAM) utilized Community Building Grant funds to support its mission of helping fathers positively impact their children’s lives and elevate fatherhood through education, strong relationships, holistic health, and socioeconomic improvement opportunities.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the first responders, service members, and countless individuals whose courage and sacrifice shape our nation.

We remember the families and communities forever changed by that day and reflect on the strength, compassion, and unity that emerged in its aftermath.

🌊 Is it possible to utilize ocean waves as a grid-compatible source of electricity? Our CHANGEMAKERS alumni and LSU College of Engineering Department of Electrical Engineering Associate Chair Mehdi Farasat is researching the answer!

Congratulations to Mehdi on receiving a $445k grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop technology that converts wave-driven mechanical motion into electrical power.
