I honestly can't remember if I've posted on this before but oh well! Here's a blast to the past, circa 2018, when the hammond music community threw together "Cinco De Fuzz". An event to honor our friend Archie Powell.
It's always nice to look back on the stepping stones that took you to where you are today. It's a good feeling to see who stuck around to be apart of the journey through the years.
To me these photos beautifully display what it means to be apart of the Punk Music community.
If you were at Cinco De Fuzz tell me a memory you have from that night ♡

🗡 WELCOME TO KINGDOM 💙
I have to say that at "Bussin' at the Basin" back in September of last year had to be one of my favorite sets. Their playful stage presence, pure dedication, and filming videos on his DS made it a night for the books 📖✍️

Today marks 8 years since the Louisiana Alternative music scene lost a very dear friend, Archie Powell, otherwise known as Fuzz McQueen by close friends. I miss Fuzz so much so I figured I'd share my first ever "music" photography photo from a dslr camera, from Jay and I's very first "show" with live music, Llamapalooza, back before Feel Alive and Young Visionaries.
The focus is blurry, the photo is way over exposed, and honestly the composition isnt even good. Looking back I can tell you I had no idea how to use that camera that had been in my hands already for 4 years.
But Archie didn't care, he loved the photo anyways. He never once even let me know the photo was subpar and kept encouraging me to keep taking photos.
I think I can speak for all of us who knew him when I say that Archie was the spark and fire under our butts to be apart of the local music scene. Its almost all he ever talked about. It always brought joy to him to tell me about his music friends, his late nights out and how he connected to other humans through their love of playing it.
Archie was like a bridge connecting the local music scene with the skateboarding scene.
He pushed us to get together, throw shows, play music and do what we love.
As I look at my life now, and see all the wonderful talented folks around me, and the friends ive made in the music scene I can confidently say that its all thanks to Archie.
So Fuzz, thank you for being the bridge. Thank you for being so utterly obsessed with the community you apart of. Thank you for bringing me into that community.
I lost a best friend that day, and I miss him greatly. But everytime I feel the joy of seeing a friend in a stage, I thank him for opening that door and leading me there.
