💚 We invest in future leaders. Our Ravena (NY) plant hosted a high school student council for a training workshop, connecting one-on-one with the students. And our Ste. Genevieve (MO) team gave elementary kids a hands-on learning experience about native pollinators.

💚 We also showcase our commitment to the Earth with clean-ups, such as the Whitehall (PA) team’s work at the Lehigh River area, filling three pickup trucks to help preserve local waterways and land.

It’s not every day kids get to step into their parents’ world. At our Whitehall (PA) plant, Take Your Child to Work Day gave them that chance—and maybe even sparked ideas for the future.

From seeing how cement is made to exploring the plant alongside their parents, it was a day about connection, curiosity and planting the first seed of inspiration!

Yesterday morning, our Chicago headquarters team put their boots on the ground for Earth Day, joining Friends of the Forest Preserves to help protect local woodlands and restore balance to nearby ecosystems.

Their effort, energy and time made a difference where it matters most—on the ground.

🌍 Earth Day reminds us that real progress means protecting the ecosystems we depend on.

At the Starved Rock Pool on the Illinois River, we’re turning environmental stewardship into action. By supplying riprap to the US Army Corps of Engineers, we helped build a 6,100-foot-long breakwater that’s now protecting vital habitats for birds and fish. This structure safeguards over 125 natural habitats along the river, ensuring a healthier ecosystem for generations to come.

“I believe all living things are vital to the well-being of our planet,” says Randy Bromberek who played a key role in supporting the project. “To build a better future, we need to protect and enhance the environment.”

Nothing better than watching the sunset at our Morrison (CO) quarry after another productive day. 🌅
