Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States and honors Black freedom, resilience, and culture. Across Illinois, communities come together to remember this history and celebrate the progress that continues today.

In observance of the holiday my office will be closed for the day, and will reopen Monday, June 22.

I was proud to join local leaders, municipal partners, and stakeholders to celebrate the groundbreaking of the WaterLink pipeline project. This 30-mile pipeline extension will help ensure a reliable, sustainable water supply for our growing region while supporting economic development and improving long-term resiliency.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this milestone possible. I look forward to seeing the progress of this transformational project in the years ahead.

I support the recently signed Illinois state budget because it strengthens our communities by expanding medical debt relief, increasing support for food assistance programs, and funding education from kindergarten through college.

My office and the Illinois Tollway's I-PASS On Demand team will be at the Oswego Public Library District-Oswego Campus this Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to assist with fines, swap out old transponders, and help with any other state-related matters.

The Second Continental Congress adopted the flag of the United States in 1777, representing the dream of creating a more perfect union. On this day 110 years ago President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed June 14th as Flag Day, and our flag continues to be a symbol of the resilient journey of our nation, and the hopes and sacrifices made to pursue our freedoms. 🇺🇸

Happy International Day of Play! Today (and every day!), let's commit to giving kids the safe spaces, time, and freedom they need to just be kids. Turn off the screens, head outside, or dig out your favorite board game. Let’s make some room for play!
